Wondering if anyone has some tips on keeping my truck parts safe. I have had my front bumper cover stolen twice and my driver-side mirror stolen. This never happened with my last car and I'm wondering if it is because Tacoma parts come off easily or if they have a higher resale? Either way I'm getting tired of replacing parts and unfortunately live in a city and only have the option to street park. Any tips to keep my car safe would be appreciated!

Seattle I had a mirror stolen and a bumper cover. I just moved to Phoenix and have been here for two weeks and have already had my front bumper cover stolen again. Maybe this isn't common and I just have bad luck!

    Oh look, another mod....
This is the best way to protect ALL the parts on your truck: Move. Get as far away from that God-forbidden city as you can.

Your problem is you moved to a literal shit hole of a town that is now reaping what it sowed. Did you call the cops? I'm thinking not as they would laugh at you.

Unfortunately as long as you’re parked in the city streets your vehicle is going to be a target. Perhaps a local parking garage or a storage unit location within walking distance with units large enough to store your vehicle?
Obviously you’re going to have to pay in time, energy and cash to make either of these things happen but peace of mind has a cost.
    Best of luck amigo:thumbsup:

Moving comments are not helpful, I have to be here for 3 years to finish my degree. Thank you for the advice on the Catalytic converter shield. Trying to make an installation appointment for that asap.

The moving advice is truth but I’m sure most people know isn’t possible. Unfortunately when you live in bad areas bad things happen. There was advice up above about trying to find a garage to rent a spot or park in busy well lit areas. Sadly when you are in a bad area with very high crime it’s a matter of when not if! I hope you can find a solution to your issue as I’d be losing my mind lol!

You can get a degree anywhere....tons of paper mills willing to accept your credits and you can do it remotely. At the end of the day it's just a piece of paper.

Get a dashcam that records 24/7. They dont use much power so you dont have to worry about your battery dying. Also get a tube of clear epoxy and put it over every nut, bolt, plastic tab and make it impossible for them to remove it. If you dont have a aftermarket alarm system, get one. They're more sensitive then the oem ones and will notify you when someone touches the truck.

Fix your truck. Rent a storage unit or garage. Park truck in the secure parking spot. Get a POS car to drive and park on the street. Or, get a moped and park it in your living room.
