Stolen parts?

I walked outside this morning to find my passenger fender flare is missing. It was on my truck when I left to go home from work yesterday and if it had come off on the highway I would have seen and or heard it come off because I had the windows down.

Last night I heard a few loud popping noises and thought nothing of it the first 2 times then I heard a loud one that sounded close to my window. I grabbed my gun and went to investigate about 1 minute after the noise and I didn’t see anyone or anything weird. But I didn’t look at my truck that closely.

Anyway, I feel like if it had come off the clips would be all broken and messed up. If anyone has ever had to take one off you know is it isn’t easy to save all the clip even when your intentionally trying to remove the fender. But they are all there and look perfect. Anyone else had an issue like this before?

 

Trust me they cant fall off, someone removed that.

One of my rears is being held on by like 3 reaming clips. Still on there no problem, doesnt even flap around on the highway.

 

That’s what I’m saying. The driver side is missing 2 clips and is still on there with no issues.

 

I cant believe in the dark they were able to undo all those clips.

Even in the day time, when I try and remove my fender flares.

Broke clips everywhere.

 

I mean it is impressive lol. Cause I typically have to pull pretty hard to get mine off. Also all the clips are still in the truck which is also weird. Idk how it happened. I will check the side of the highway on my way home and see if it did somehow fall off but I seriously doubt it did. If anyone has a spare flare for cheap I’m definitely interested in buying.

The flares are crazy expensive from the dealer.
Do we have to start worrying about flares like we do with cats?

Yeah the flares pop off pretty loudly, probably what you heard. If he had one of those panel remover tools (like a screwdriver with a C shaped head for detaching clips) he could've done it quick and without breaking them.

Before I got one of those tools, I would break clips every time. I can do it without breaking them with the tool.

 

Weird thing to steal, maybe someone looking to sell their Tacoma in this hot market needed one to make it look better and decided to go after yours. Can't really see why else someone would steal one flare and nothing else

 

I bounced mine off a rock just at the right upward angle at the back on just the flair...that bad boy popped ripped halfway off. Pulling it off was a minor pia Would agree those things are on there unless you physically hit something hard enough to pop the clips. There is minimal chance of them popping off on their own.

 

That sucks. Fingers crossed they ripped it off so quickly the totally destroyed the tabs on the backside of the flare and made it useless for them anyway.

 

I would keep an eye out incase they want the other 3.

 

Take them off every night and bring them inside with you

 

I had a mud flap stolen in a Home Depot parking lot, so I am not surprised by the fender flare theft

 

Hell, I am pulling my battery every night. 4 weeks ago, my truck was stolen from a job site
The fucker has my keys... I have new locks, keys and coded on the way. It still sucks to do though, until I can get the new stuff installed. Being 4th of July weekend makes it extra difficult.
