A friend of mine told me today that he made a hinged cross-bar onto his frame that locked over the spare. He installed a heavy duty padlock and had it up high where bolt cutters would be hard to maneuver. To free the spare you just unlock it, swing it down and the hinge can then separate. He hasn't had his spare tire stolen since. I'll see if I can get photos of it later this week.

I told you once how to deal with it.
Even my wimpy Brother pulled a Mod. 28 to save his battery from being stolen.
They put it right back in good order.

When did Americans lose their guts?

Most of us don't have a badge. It's my understanding that pulling a gun to protect property will get one thrown in jail in People's Republic of Kalifornia as fast or faster than the thief. It'd be difficult to prove that I stumbled across them while carrying a loaded weapon; it's almost impossible here to get a concealed carry permit. I have to walk down stairs and through a locked gate to get to them. It could be said that I went down looking for trouble should I have to actually shoot someone.

    Bad Joke,
Guy calls the law saying his shop is being broke into, reply stay inside and we'll send someone when avaiable. Guy waits 2 minutes and calls back and says never mind just send the ambulance because I shot them both dead. With in minutes there is a SWAT team, a news crew, and a helicopter overhead. They catch the theives alive in the shop and ask the owner why he said he killed the theives and his reply was how come you said you had no units available. ;)

Because California is fortunate enough to be "enlightened" by all the actors that live out there that tell you how to live your life. What gets me are the actors (Alec Baldwin is one of them) that are AVID anti-gun activists and truely believe guns are the root cause of violence in America, but then tehy have no problem using a gun in movies and killing bad guys with them. Actors should all have their 1st amendment privilages revoked

Not to mention taking away their bodyguards with firearms. Maybe they ought to serve full time on DUI also. Living in the real world might truly enlighten those kind.

I have a CA CCW permit. You just live in the wrong county.
My brother was in Imperial CO. crop dusting. He had every right to pull the weapon.
He would make a great fighter pilot. But a poor gun slinger.
    He should have shot.
But then the BG`s could not have re-installed the battery that they had stolen.
Of course one could kill them after the work. But this is legally dicy. And Ron would not do it anyway.

Texas has always allowed traveling. You do not need a CCW.
I would never have stopped to help that Texas Ranger otherwise.

Travel was very narrowly defined without a CCW until Sept. of '06 I believe. As in most direct route, across county line, staying over night, carrying cash, ect. That is why most that did get a CCW did so, no questions. The only reason that I renew now is so I can be legal outside of TX with recipical states while traveling. These are the ones I travel in most anyway. I'll take my chances in the ones that aren't if you know what I mean.

I was going across state. No petty arguments there. And when I got to Waco I was given a Texas Ranger badge from CO E with my name engraved on the back. No ID card. But the Capt.`s card with a number.
I also had an OCSO CA badge with ID at the time. It sure changed a couple of minds in FL in 1968.
    I was still passing through.
But that is a long story.

    Agricover tonneau,
I'm buying a tonneau cover for my tac. Already saved myself some grief. Was set on buying Bak Roll-Bak as it looked stronger than the Pace Edwards Full Metal Jacket. However, after reading posts (and learning that I'd lose use of my tie downs), am now leaning towards Access Lorado; less security but more useful.

    So it's all good.

Not to be rude but I have a question: What does this have to do with security solutions for spare tires?

Well, you could rig a trip wire with exploding purple bank die.

I did that with my mail box. The perps were caught within hours.

5 and 7 years of fed time.

This happened in Kali. Ron was crop dusting in the Imperial Vally and staying in a motel.
