Thanks guys, trying to spread the word and hoping for the best. Tallon is a good guy and has helped me out immensely. He is busy dealing with Insurance and the Authorities and also trying to manage the "social networking" angles, so I wanted to help by posting here and a few other Yota sites.

He called them first thinking that was the case, but after speaking with all the towing companies, and State Patrol, it was not logged or registered as an impound.

There are some scandalous tweakers in that area (as with most places nowadays  ) so I might start calling junk/scrapyards and Pawn shops tomorrow to see if they stripped it for parts to sell.

I'd have him call the state and local patrol again in a day to make sure they didn't have it but not have it logged in yet. That happened to a friend of mine, his car was towed, the police said they didn't have it. He called the next day to report it stolen and they told him, 'oh, we have it, it's in our impound'. The paperwork just hadn't caught up yet.

Sorry for your buddy's loss hope he'll find it

I plan on installing a GPS tracker on my truck just in case. They're pretty cheap to buy and install and only about $3.00/month to keep an account.

It was the Grand Mound Park 'N Ride, located here on the East-side of I-5:
    http://goo.gl/maps/XcqFb

Good thinking, that would be an awesome surprise. I know Tallon already filed a report w/ WSP and they haven't alerted him of anything yet, but it might be worth a call to the local impound lot.

Thanks Nick! I was looking at the map, and saw a road not too far from the Park 'N Ride that looks like it goes back into the woods. Usually guys will try to get it off the road ASAP to start stripping it (I don't know from experience, but that makes sense to me anyway).
