I have a 05 taco trd 4x4 when I stop and take off from a stop sign I feel a little jolt like a little slop in the driveline is that normal? The dealer says yes I feel it's different. I own a 07 GMC Denali AWD 4x4 I hear driveline movement but not the feel. HAs any one else felt this and is it normal?

Sounds like Axel wrap. It is normal on Automatic equiped Tacomas.

When comming to a stop, the drive shaft and rear axel are under a torqe load, as the tranny is still aplying power to the diff. This twists the DS and Rear end up a little bit, as the Tacoma springs are long, and a softer spring rate, than most other trucks. The brakes hold the rear end in this position, then when the brakes are released, you hear/feel a "thump" or "Clunk" as the rear axel pivots back to its original position. It can be fixed with an AAL (Add A Leaf), but this will aslo give you more lift in the rear. Some people have claimed to have fixed this issue by greaseing the slip joint on the drive shaft, but I dont think this is a good way to fix the issue, as by doing so, stress is now applied to the pinion seal in the third member.

Isn't the slip joint sealed? How are people greasing it?

On the new ones, they are, but on the First gens, they can be greased.
