    Mine is a Sport DCSB.

I was really starting to like the power of the brakes, but now they're just not as strong as they used to be. (but I beat the shit out of this thing, and use the hell out of the brakes)

Now it brakes like a normal vehicle, so it's not really an issue, even though I miss the power.

I'm definitely not spending money on pads until the factory ones are toast.

I have the same thing, it's a little spongy at first and then grabs quickly. I thought it was screwy when I first got it but really just something you learn to get used too. 8800 miles later and they haven't changed a bit but now they feel normal!

I burned them down by late braking all the time. I drive almost all 55 mph country roads, and got used to waiting until the last second to brake because the brakes were so strong.

    Yeah.
My 09 DCSB Base model had more linear brakes but did not "panic" brake very well, you really had to stomp on it. My 12 DCSB TRD OR will stop on a dime if you need it to, tested that just last week when a kid came across the centerline and sideswiped the lady in front of me. Nice to have that power when you need it.

Our 06 4Runner brakes (and accelerates) differently than either of the Tacomas, and every time I switch cars it takes a few stops to get the braking right.

I don't think there is anything wrong, you just have to get used to it.

You know, my girlfriend tells me the same thing.

The only thing I ever hear from her when we're driving is, "I think I'm going to be sick....".

I just thought she had a weak stomach. Weird.
