Maybe I missed it, but is the consensus that this upgrade is actually worth it? I have 18's/35s so the big kit is what I'm looking at. Did anyone do any actual testing?

I just went to 35s and am waiting on my brake lines before I install mine, but I got the 6 piston ones. After talking with sos, they recommend the 6 piston for outstanding results over the four piston. That said I’m fully armored with LT so I need the extra strength.

I also have steel bumpers, sliders and skids. No LT though, running OME.

Just the rear upgrade with 35s did the trick for me. The drums are worthless.

What all did you have to replace with the rear kit? I had read awhile back that it was not worth it because of the pressure needed or something. I don't know if that was to another kit though.

I read all of those threads on many different forums too. Like so many times on these boards, it was just a bunch of guys speculating or hearsay and a lot of their statements were conflicting. Never saw any evidence of an actual truck having issues with the SOS (Sequoia) kit (or one even being installed). Had a conversation with one guy who didn't like the Ford version, but then the Guyana build guy had great results with it.
But more importantly, I installed it and noticed an immediate difference. It stops better than when I had 265s. When I have to stop short I no longer cringe. I can imagine it would be even better with EBC pads. It never made sense to me that people trash talk our 4 piston front brakes as the Tacoma's braking weakness when we have drums in the rear. The front brakes just aren't getting any help. And I have yet to see the drum brake as an option on Camburg, Diamond, Currie, LSK, etc, custom rears - just sayin.

And I just installed what the kit came with. The only thing extra was the stoptech braided lines and DMZs extended brake lines.

Well put Hawk. I have SOS discs at all corners. 35s, full armor plus some, and I have so much more confidence in my ability to stop.

I assume it's the same. Looks like there are some color options now and he used to reference Sequoia instead of 4Runner brakes. I bought mine in 2015. But I think a lot of Toyota/Lexus share the same setup.
They have great customer service, don't hesitate to call with any questions.

I went back over some pages. Looks like your running all 4 corners with SOS. If I'm buying I set right now, would you start with the big 6 on front or do the rear. I also live right at the base of the Cascades and tow a pop up for camping.
