I have decided to keep the topper on my DCLB. In doing so I am interetsed to see how those of you with toppers store tools and other needed gear. I am currently using a large Plastic bin but would like to see other ideas. Thanks in advance

I used to work out of my truck and at the same time used the truck to haul my boat and leave it overnight in marinas parking lots. The safety of my tools was constant in my mind till I come out with (for me) a ingenious idea. I made a false floor covered with a thick robber mat over a 8" box on the bottom of the truck. worked flawlessly
for me except for the water damage problem which I had to deal later. 2x6 lumber covered with 1/8" aluminum plate.

    .
I have a bed divider installed forwards and keep fluids, jack, cribbing, straps and other stuff there, heavy chain hanging down the right side and enough room left for tool bins to work out of.

I use some totes and soft sided bags for my tools , I'm considering a UWS 42" chest style tool box though

A big concern is security and not making it easy for someone to walk away with my stuff. I am guessing most have a tailgate lock and I should probably address that right away.
