So I received a hi lift jack and I don't have any mounts to mount it outside and I'm concerned about it being stolen if I did store it in the bed. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has tried to fit one behind the seat or under it. I have a double cab and it looks like if remove the plastic back piece I may have the room. If do the I still have to come up with a way to hold it in place so it's not rattling or sliding around. Anyone found any ways to mount it inside??

If you ever do need to use it, it sounds like it will be a PITA to get out. Also these things can get real dirty (muddy) when used. Putting it back in the cab and keeping the cab clean will be problematic. Consider bed storage and a lock.

Mount it in your bed off the rails and just run a cable lock through it to the tie downs in the bed.

Kind of on topic with this.. How about storing an Axe inside the cab? I was thinking about getting one of the rear window shotgun racks. Shotgun on one rack, axe on the other..

My solution is quick fists on rear bed wall, holding shovel & ax. Hi-lift and Maxtrax on shelf. All under a “RollX”.

It’s all removed for hauling stuff when using truck as a truck vs play toy.

I wouldn't keep any hi lift Jack's or axes in the cab. You get in an accident or rollover and they become deadly inside of the cab. Bolt it down in the bed and cable lock thrue it.

^^^This for sure. I saw the results of a local guy getting hit in the head with a jack that was loose inside his car when involved in an accident . He is no longer with us.

I bought the Buckhorn 48x15 storage box to be stored under the sleeping platform in the bed. I cut a slot at the end so the handle will not stick up above the top of the box. The bottom is lined with diamond tread pattern floor matting (comes in a roll). I plan to drill 2 holes at the end on the external vertical support pieces, add grommets, and run a loop of paracord through piece of PVC pipe as a drag handle.
