Who here runs a straight pipe on their 4.0 V6? I'm curious to see who has removed their muffler. I know some people on here have talked about doing it, but many on here shoot down the idea by saying it's "too ricey". I realize you can un-bolt the cat back for an idea, but I want to hear who has committed to chopping off the muffler.

It's a feeler. I know many hate the way the V6 sounds, but I wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with it.

I ran straight pipe and headers on my 3.4l. Loud as shit and raspy. I wouldn't recommend it. I had to almost shout at any passengers.

    Haha...not doing it...can't make me!
Classic chambered power stick in place of the muffler sounds amazing. I haven't found anyone else other than myself that have done this yet, I didn't really tell anyone about it when I had it installed.

It's similar to a glass pack, but designed to reduce sharp exhaust sounds. I think I have a photo somewhere here on my build page or a separate post.

Yeah I don't like the way the 3.4's sound on YouTube videos. The 4.0 sounds a little deeper and more tolerable.

If you want it deeper run a larger diameter pipe.
