So I want to straight pipe my truck because a cat back is $2-300, but I can’t find anything on whether or not I have to cut or replace certain parts or if I can just “remove the muffler.” It may be a dumb question but does anyone know the situation better?

Sir with the absolute most respect possible this is just not smart. It is rude to everyone around you, every family outside or inside thier homes you drive by. Do not do this. Your exhaust system is stainless steel. If you want a exhaust buy one. Borla makes a nice one, so does magna flow. Just do some random internet guy you will never meet a solid and just dont do it.

I had a Jones muffler(magnaflow knockoff) welded in place of my stock muffler and it sounds pretty good.
Cost was 150.00 so not a big investment.

Every other truck where I live. So cool at 5AM waking up the whole dam neighborhood. Put on a real cat-back or leave it stock!

    this and that...
when i was putting on my urd mk2 ypipe, my 2020 trd pro exhaust didnt show up yet. when it was time to move the truck back into its proper place in the garage, it sounded absolutely retar...horrendous during idle. when it was in gear the abysmal roar went away but it was still obnoxiously loud. i dont mean this in a good way either, trust me, i LOVE the sound of a nice exhaust. the next day i threw on the 2020 trd pro exhaust on and got that harmonic rumble i was looking for. the ypipe changes the sound of the catback exhaust just enough that it gives it a more deeper, pronouced tone, other than the the trd exhaust is pretty quiet.
