Driving on the interstate. Low oil pressure and motor shut down. Oil level is clean and clear and full. Truck will not restart. On roll back headed to dealer. They have already informed me they are 3 days out even looking at it. I do have some extended warranty. What am I looking at. Had zero warning. Daily driver. No issues before this

I’d probably be making sure that extended warranty is still valid first and foremost. We can’t really tell you what’s up …
These engines occasionally pop for unknown reasons.
Do you have a full maintenance history on your truck ? How many miles ? Does it even turn over or is it seized ?

Probably needs an engine, definitely inquire about the rental policy with your warranty.

Has it ever had any major work?

Good thing you have warranty, no sweat off your back.

No way it needs an engine. I’d think with with 70k Never had any thing other than normal maintenance done. I was hoping someone had experience with this. Like a bad oil pump or a sensor. I pulled over right away.

There have definitely been multiple folks with their engine give up at that mileage of lower. It’s definitely possible. Although yes, things like the oil pump do go bad now and then. Just a few days ago one guy updated us on his thread that his oil pump broke into a bunch of pieces. I don’t recall what the initial symptoms were though.

Have you been changing the oil every 5k miles with quality oil? Factory oil filter? Maybe the filter collapsed starving the engine of oil

This is why I carry more than double the amount of water we need in separate containers if I’m out off-roading somewhere remote…

I’d bet a faulty sensor or blown fuse. I hope you get it back on the road soon without too much of a headache!

We'll just be guessing here, could be rodent damage, dead battery, dead engine, cat thieves accidentally stole it's sole rather than cats, etc etc
I know it sucks, but lets wait to hear what they say.

Probably wiring to sensors came loose or fuel pump failure.
That oil warning was associated with cps in early production years

Unloaded off the roll back. He will look at it Monday. No warning. No noise no nothing. Had been driving about 25 miles and this happened out of the blue. No chance cats were taken. No chance of rodent damage.

Hope its a Toyota extended warranty and not some 3rd party warranty or you may have a fight on your hands.
