respectfully- didn't they initially quote you 3 days to even look at it?
If so, you could be adding to your wait, if you keep calling them. Not that is the right way to handle it, but still something to consider.

OP sorry you are going through this. I went through something similar with my '72 Nova recently. Oil clean and level looked excellent. Noticed pressure was down in the 20s at speed then dipped to like 6 as I was pulling into the garage. Built motor, performance everything, well cared for. Sounded like a beast, no indication anything was wrong other than the low pressure. Mechanical pressure gauge so something was no bueno.

Took it to a race buddy/mechanic after pulling the motor and the oil had congealed and was like pudding / jello. Very strange. We have no clue what could have caused that. Oil pump was fine but it had just a bit of friction in one spot so I replaced it. Put Rotella through it 2x no metal and ran the pump manually with a drill and she is making 60 lbs of pressure. What the F caused the oil to congeal, I haven't the foggiest? No metal shavings came out and we're running high detergent and high zinc Rotella though it for 500 miles before switching back to Mobile 1 Synthetic.

I'm just thankful I'm not rebuilding a $30K motor. I share this because low oil pressure can be caused by any number of things and I don't know what the ECU is programmed to do in the Taco but it sounds like it shut down to prevent damage to the engine. Your mechanic should be able to tell you...

    1. Did the sensor go bad? A bad signal to the ECU could cause the taco to go into limp mode (I think??)
    2. Is there metal in the filter or oil that comes out of your Taco? Clearest indication of bad stuff happening inside.

I was told on the phone 3 days. But when I arrived with the tow truck driver Saturday the service manager did assure me they would look at it Monday. And I’m not calling them. Although I’d love to get an update I’ll wait for their call

German cars have had a history of electrical issues especially when they get old. As for Hyundai.....well, that name use to speak for itself when it came to quality.

Point is that similar occurrences had a simple fix.

I always remember British cars with Lucas electrical being the point of many jokes for how awful they were.

Even gm has had its share of issues. Imo, when it comes to Toyota's, they have had fewer electrical problems than many others.

Does your a/c ever drip on your passenger floor mat when you drive the truck long distance In super hot weather? Mine started dripping the other day when I went on a long road trip and ran it on “Fresh air mode” . Soon as I switched it to recirculate the dripping stopped.

No, my a/c has never done that, knock on wood. I never use the recirculate mode...I push it alway off. Thats weird if it drips, but I've never had my a/c on long enough than a 50 mile ride. I used my a/c early this morning to run an errand...all is good.

I have never noticed it in my truck until Sunday when driving 10 hours to South Carolina where the humidity and heat is brutal. Short trips around home in pa never once seen a drop even with running fresh air mode. I looked under dash and the hvac box was wet with condensation

We don't know all the facts on this truck. Why do people come on here, post a thread on their own story. There are 3 stories, the owner, the dealer and reality.
What modifications have been done to the vehicle. I will say, it sounds like a crank position sensor or a fuel pump.
Then you you have never driven through enough mud or water.

My low voltage light came on first, shortly before going full christmas tree. My deep cycle got me to the offramp where I died at the stoplight. Two jump packs hooked up to the terminals got me over the overpass into a shell station parking lot. Friend and I were convoying, so able to buy a new alternator at a nearby parts house (and all the tools since I left mine at home). Thanks God for TW, it told me what I needed and how to change it!
