Need some help guys. I’m almost done installing a Tru-Cool 4454. I can’t figure out why fluid is leaking out the exit line like crazy.

I’m using the factory cooler in series. The output of the factory cooler (passenger side) is connected to the top of the Trucool which I believe is the input (IDK for sure). Fluid is leaking out the output on the bottom of the cooler around the hose.....can’t figure this out.

This is how it’s mounted. Again, passenger side cooler line to top then exits to trans via the top line.

Na, I think I figured it out. I had it backwards. On the stock cooler inlet in passenger side and the output is driver side.

the factoru hose is 3/8 and the nipple for the tru cool uses 5/16 hose.

get an adapter for 3/8 to 5/16 hose and connect the 5/16 hose to the cooler!

Yeah. It was leaking like a a faucet. Like it was blocked. Don’t think it’s leaking now. If it is it’s very little. But I will do that.

Seems good to me, my cruiser has a trans cooler about half the width of the rad and even it gets to 175 without a load in the hwy. Gets hotter around town with stop and start and not much airflow. But below 215 or so all is well anyway

Cool. Just need to make sure I didnt overfill it dropped so much fluid had to eyeball it. Added half a quart and was still at the cold line after driving it. Then added another half.
