I recently installed new UCA bushings from Energy suspension, I noticed the other day one of the passenger side bushings looks like this. Obviously this amount of wear in two week old bushings is abnormal to say the least any ideas as to what could’ve caused it?

When I installed them I followed the supplied instructions greased them with the supplies energy suspension grease and didn’t torque them until I had the weight of the vehicle back on it. I also cannot tell if the bushing got worn down or somehow sucked into the bore of the control arm. Any ideas? I have white lines that should come in tomorrow I am going to replace them with as obviously this one is shot. One photo is of the bad bushing and the other one is the bushing on the same arm that is still good.

I had problems with ES bushings on my steering rack...
the ones I got did not fit even close......hack saw time...no bs..
and yes they were the correct ones for 5 lug racks.....sorta...

I now believe the blue 'prothane ones' are better/longer lasting
suspect the red ones harden over time......
the blue ones are expensive and come from Australia...

I did ES steering rack bushings a year ago or so and they made a big difference. Now I’m approaching 100K miles and planning a complete refresh of the steering. Im waiting for the OEM upper and lower ball joints to arrive and I have new Moog LCAs, inner and outer tie rods, and ES bushings for the UCAs. Im really interested it what went wrong with the OPs install. From the picture there appears to be a gap between the reused bushing shell and the control arm but I can’t really tell.
