So I can't replace the bearing, or rebuilt the engine? or I'd have to get a new engine?

That would depend on exactly what is really damaged...sometimes its just easier and cheaper to find a donor motor and do a motor swap

look in a junkyard for a used motor. Yours is a time bomb now.

Just for good measure try to see if the source of the noise is external, like a bearing in an alternator or something. If the bearing is bad in one of those it will make a big racket.

Before condeming the whole engine....take off the belts. see if the noise continues. Could be a pulley making noise.

Oh, and don't put wd40 in your engine.

Yeah wd40 is not bad in engines. I have used it loads of times in swamped atv and motorcycle engines.

My brother use to hydrolock his engine all the time, and used WD40 to displace the water then flush it out with oil. but have to wait for WD40 to work in.

So I'll check the pullies. but its hard to find the source of the noise. some times it sounds like its coming from the bottom or the front.

uhh....this is what happens hen you hydrolock an engine...

This isnt fixed with wd40. putting wd40 in your engine isnt helping anything. it sits at the bottom of your oilpan. and is the first thing to get drained out when you pull the plug. There should be absolutely no water in an engine. find out why its getting in. Moisture is normal under the oil cap.

did you take off the belt?

Based on the sound it's making, that's a good possibility. There's obviously some pretty serious grinding going on, doing more damage by the second. At this point, it's likely beyond repair, or will cost more to fix than replace (used engine). Of course, you could get darn lucky - it's the alternator, a pulley bearing, or something else grinding, not something inside the engine. Wouldn't count on that, though.

So I took the belts off. and sure enough, guess one of the pullies were making the noise. got a video here of all the belts off and the engine not making that noise.

Mud in your fan clutch? I don't if thats sealed or what.

Bottom line is don't go mudding through deep mud, or mudding period, brought a tear to my eye hearing a 5VZ sound like that.

This was the cause of hitting a puddle at 25 mph and not knowing how much damn mud/water was in that puddle.

    Lucky man.

Check the pulleys one at a time... maybe put a belt on them and spin them up with a power drill (go the right direction).
    I'm betting it's the alternator... it's the least-sealed item.

Ya, I'm thinking the same thing. I had to replace the starter cause it wouldn't start. so Why not the Alternator. better to spend money on that instead of a new engine. or something like that.

um, pretty much play in the mud with a truck. I'm in Hawaii now, and they got some decent places, but when I lived in florida, thats where some good swampy muddin is.
here are some pics of when this whole problem started.

and this is after when I hit the mud puddle, where I assume the water in the engine came.

    You're welcome :D

Now....put one belt back on. Does it make the noise? If so, you've narrowed it down further. Keep in mind it may be more than one thing making noise. Now use a stethescope and put it on the each accessory. (cage of the alternator, bolt on the idler ETC), and find out exactly which one is crying.

It drove fine on the way back home. I've been needing to get an electric fan anyways. guess, I'll be putting one on tomorrow and a new alternator. see if that fixes the problem.

It must have been deep water and mud?
If u shut it right down, drained all fluids, wd-40, flush with new oil, add oil again, u may have been ok.
U know you are screwed when u drain your oil, water and oil comes out (and its alot of fluid). Its the quantity of fluid that caused your hydrolock, and the h2o that burned your bearings.
    Sorry for the bad news.

I left for a few hours. After looking at the pics, the water and mud does not look that deep.
Follow spoonman's advice, change your oil/filter again and we'll all hope for the best.
Let us know how it works out.
