I have an '08 DCSB. Was having some frame work done on the truck that required removing the gas tank. After everything was put back together I took the truck for a drive and when I got above 70mph it started making a weird noise. It sounded like a there was something lose and vibrating in the back seat area of the cab. I checked everything in the backseat just to make sure and looked under the truck to make sure nothing was loose. I couldn't see anything that jumped out as this could be causing the noise.

    Has anyone experienced this?

You probably need to check the hoses, fill pipe, vents etc to make sure they are properly aligned and dampened after the work was completed. Unfortunately that may involve removal of the tank again for inspection.

Did you remove it or did you pay the frame worker to do it. If you paid for the work take it back and allow them a chance to do the right thing.

Thanks! Didn’t think about that… I’ll reach out but they’re two hours out from where I’m at, so may just take to a friends shop and pull it down to check everything.

Was finally able to get the truck to my friends shop and what we found is that the drive shaft is the issue. Took a video but couldn’t upload it, so here is a pic of the video.

I know, not what I was thinking would be the issue. I guess getting 189k miles out of isn’t that bad :notsure:

Oh wow!! Can’t complain then - lol. We fixed that and the heat shield for the catalitic converter bolts were where lose (rust on them) so we fixed that too. These are great trucks and I’m at the point where mine just needs a little TLC

Forgot to mention @Jimmyh was right. The clips that hold the fuel lines broke. We hade some from a 3rd gen but they're different from the 2nd gen :annoyed:. Getting some new ones at the dealer tomorrow.

Been a while since I Posted here, so wanted to give an update. Replaced the draft shaft with an OEM drive shaft a while back. After replacing the drive shaft the truck started to vibrate between 30 - 40 mph and between 60 - 70 mph. The interesting thing is that it wasn't doing it all the time, but now it seems to be doing it more and more. I thought about removing the drive shaft and getting it checked to make sure it's balanced properly. I had the wheels rebalanced just to rule that out and it's till doing it.

I replied the suspension a few months ago, but didn't replace the leaf springs (they have 190k miles on them). After doing this the truck was fine and there was no vibration. Could the vibration be related to the leaf springs or should I pull the drive shaft and have it checked?

BTW - I also checked the motor mounts and they look fine.

    Edit: @jimmy, @Dm93 any suggestions

Any advice would be great. Thanks
