So I've noticed it a few times. When I'm stopped and put it in 4wd it smells like a fart. Not a baby diaper fart, like a PBR n venison fart. Dunno what or where its comin from. Any ideas at all?

I won't hit pavement with it in 4wd. I thought gear oil too. Only happens for a couple seconds when I turn the knob then it goes away. And yes by bloomers are unsoiled

A fart smell? damn, check for midgetts under the front end, you might have ran one over....

A fart smell though? Only thing that I imagine smelling like a fart is a smoked clutch but its not really..... I'd seriously check for roadkill thats burning off your rear end. I had something burning off of mine for awhile last summer.... btw, how hot is your rear end supposed to get during the summer? I know I could have cooked eggs on mine during the summer last year.

Ill hafta check the breather. I only smell it right after its put in 4wd. Then it goes away. I have no clue. I'm lost. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and don't even know where to begin. If it was the breather I think id smell it when I was sittin still. Unless it has somethin to do with a vaccuum line somewhere

Blinker fluid. That stuff smells downright nasty!!!

Funny, but I only associate the fart smell with the catalytic converters. To me, gear oil smells nothing like it.

Its actually weird you say that I was dropping off someone from my work the other nite in a snow storm. We were in 4WD and were doing some donuts before I dropped her off. When she got out she said that it smelled like sulfur (PBR/Venison Fart).

On second thought there is a slight possibility it could have been my ass. I do eat alot of deer, though I'm mostly a Keystone Light guy. :D
