I have an 05 double cab 4x4. There is a noise coming from somewhere under the hood when I accelerate. You can't hear it with the windows up. I can hear it echo off trees or fences when you drive by them. I have felt a drop in power in low rpms as well. I'll try to find a better way to describe the sound when I get home. Any help is appreciated.

It's more predominate right after it shifts and yes it is automatic

hmm, sry i dunno about that one. my issue was it would make an aweful noise when accelerating and right before shifting. it was from the previous owner not doing regular oil changes and it got all sludged up and ended up throwing a rod through the engine. my mechanic said the amount of sludge in it was rediculous.

i would be cautious if i was you, to not over work the engine and drive it as little as possible till you figure it out

Thanks for the advice. The noise I hear is like a low, fast paced clicking/fluttering sound. That's as good as I can describe it

thats kinda what mine sounded like. im not sure how much of a difference there would be, but the car im talking about was a 2002 dodge grand caravan.

it would kind of do it the whole time, but it would do it more and louder right when it was about to shift gears then calm down a little. i could feel it through the pedal too, it was like a slight vibration
