My bearings had no play in any direction when they were bad.
Replacing them did fix the problem.

I’m not stating it’s the bearings. Just stating my experience on my truck.
My bearing didn’t “clink”, they “roared” and change in sound when going around curves and turn.

If you had the truck off the ground , you removed the weight of the truck from the bearing load . Its going to be very hard to hear those bearings if the truck has no load .
Drive in a straight line up to the speed where you hear the noise . Once you are at the speed where you hear the noise , move the steering wheel from right to left while listening for a change in the pitch of the sound .
If the sound changes as you make quick steering adjustments , chances are , you need front wheel bearings

All I heard was wind noise
Not easy diagnosing noises over a keyboard
Did you try bringing the truck to speed and then manipluating the steering wheel from right to left .
Did your noise change in pitch as you loaded each side of the truck ?

I did try that. But no the pitch stayed the exact same right to left and left to ride. Sound starts to appear at 25 MPH

I also only heard wind noise. How many wiles on the 2009? Any past records of major items replaced?
Stock tires and wheels or oversized? More details are needed as many possible areas to look at.

If its the wheel bearing they will get louder so then you will know.

Not sure of the real sound so look at due to mileage:
Idler and tensioner pulleys (pull belt off and spin) and Alternator too
Drive shafts and carrier bearing (grab and shake if lots of play a problem)
Rear wheel bearings and differential (again will get louder as gets worse)
Gear oil in the front and rear diff and xfer case good/full and no water in them
Heat shields above exhaust and drivers side cat shield under drivers seat area
Front disc shield behind the rotor check to see if bent in and rubbing
Calipers sticking or rotors out of round
    Rear drums dragging

Others will have things also but without being there really hard to help with noise cause.
But if it drives and steers OK then the good news is it will get louder and then you will find it.

Update, steering has become looser and will not return to straight position.
