That is sooo fast for a boat of that construction! A platform we have in the Coast Guard has around 800HP but it doesn't go much faster than that at all. Without shock absorbing seats and a re-enforced hull for safety, these bass boats are ultra lite's, light and agile, wow.

I fish bass tournaments in Maryland right now and one of the guys I fish against has a bass cat with a 300 merc on it. I got in one time and we were at 107 mph on gps. That was crazy but fun.

bass fisherman use fast boats and put a million rods on them to over compensate for the small fish they catch.....

pro bass fishermen need a fast boat. they need to get to their spots fast, and get back fast. the faster the travel time, the more time they have to put a lure into the water.

we have an older Stratos, and it feels fast at 68. 100+ must feel insane!! i love it.

I used to run with some guys that had built Bullets and Allisons. All i had was a 20' Blazer with a Merc 200 but i could still run 82mph on the GPS but these other guys would just leave me like i was sitting on the beach. Since i was the smallest guy i was always nominated to hold the GPS when we could change props or fine tune the motors and let me tell you it was a blast!! We did GPS my friends Allison at 107 with a 300 short shaft drag motor and an ultralite hull

thats crazy, some of those boats were barely in the water, i cant imagine how easy it would be to lose control of those

Oh trust me. I understand tournament fishing. Ive grown up around all the big SKA kingfishing tournaments and have done a few redfish tournaments myself.

You think 68 feels fast on calm water...try 3-5 foot seas :goingcrazy:

Just poking fun at the freshwater guys :)
