    Do you have any more info about how you removed and reinstalled the valve spring? I am in the exact same scenario right now where I had to cut off one of the head bolts and I nicked a valve spring. Everything I can find about replacing valve springs is for the kind where the spring is exposed

    I used this when I removed my valves when I did my head gaskets lasts year. I can’t tell you if there are easier ways but this does work. Just be careful with those keepers. They like to fly around.

    Ok thanks for the help. I tried using a spring compressor from oreillys but it kinda sucked so I ended up using a socket with a magnet inside and that worked very well. Part of my confusion was that I didn’t realize the “buckets” just lift off of the springs by hand

    I have a spring compressor tool that I designed and made - I can give you some more details by DM if you'd like. I rented it out to another member who did his camshafts recently, so I could do that for you as well.
