Upper pan is aluminum. Replacement is not easy. Stick to published torque specs.

Read what I said, I torqued it to 80 inlbs like Toyota calls for.

80 inch pounds = 7 foot pounds. That's barely hand "snug"
Hope you were using an inch pound torque wrench not a foot pound wrench.

Yeah 1/4" drive little inlb wrench. I rarely use it but it does come in handy sometimes. Was shocking how easy they came out lol.

Why are you surprised by these torque values? If you work on toyota engine (internal jobs) you see similar low torque values in many internal.

Well folks that's wrap. Let the FIPG cure for 18 hours before putting oil in, and it's bone dry. No leaks

SO much better replacing the pan rather than limping along with a bandaid. Beauty of a truck too!

Hey TW, just want to confirm. That lower oil pan part number is 12102-0P030? Looking to replace it in the future, maybe even next oil change. When I hand tighten the bolt, it goes about halfway and then it needs a bit of force before it keeps screwing on. Still goes on tight, no leaks but definitely scared that threads may be going. Anyways, i'm a bit skeptical on order because Toyota shows two different pan shapes. This happen to anyone else? Or am I just blind and looking at these wrong LOL.Toyota Oil Pan 1.png Toyota Oil Pan 2.png

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
You're torquing the oil drain plug to 30lbs/ft?

Isn't that the spec? 30(drain)/20(filter cap)/10(filter cap plug) or thereabouts.

I believe it is ~ Across all three Toyota vehicles I own, IIRC.
I'd never take them to 30, but it's not a one time misprint.

Curious, what do you torque them to?

I grew up without torque wrenches, and not having one never bit me in the ass. I'd borrow one when it came to something I felt might be critical.
In my early 20's I bought myself some cheap torque wrenches that did me more harm than good.
Finally I arrived at a point where I could afford a half dozen quality wrenches and I started torqueing everything.
At this point in life, I've come full circle, and I'm back to only using them when I deem crucial, or when torqueing in inch pounds.
Drain bolts, I just snug up good with a standard length 1/2 " ratchet, probably in the 18-20ft lb range ~
