Some scratches from the screwdriver to pry it out so I added a bit extra sealer

I usually wait at least 8 hours and longer if it is cold out. The cold increases the cure time on most adhesives and sealers.

the thought of replacing an entire pan over one stripped thread or bolt is heresy to any junior highschool metal shop teacher or anyone with a junior level machining skill set. heresy! cut a new thread like others said. 5 minutes.

Damn you did a number with that screwdriver... I always use a heavy plastic putty knife so it doesn't damage the sealing face as yours is.

Never use a screwdriver for an oil pan, esp with an aluminum seating surface. You might get by with cast iron.

Except that the oil pan is really thin material. There is a sort on nut tacked to the inside of the pan to thicken the threaded portion but in my case, the nut came loose from the pan. So basically I was only able to rethread the thickness on the pan which is almost like sheetmetal. Was not sufficient.
