Took my skid plates off my 04 today and noticed that two screws were missing. Haven't had it off before except for being at the dealer. It looks like the holes are stripped and the bolts fall out. Anyway to fix this like some sort of a threaded insert or something. If I got one, would I be able to still remove the bolts?

3 in Ultimate ToyTec, set @ 2.5 in. AAL PINCH Weld Mod ( beat the pinch weld over inside the fender) Painted the pinch weld on bottom of cab Black Hi Lift Knock off
I would have a new nut welded back on the skid. A bud could do it or just pay someone. Welding simple stuff is cheap

I may be confused, but if he has it welded. He won't be able to take it off to get to the oil drain plug. Or is this a different plate that he is talking about?

When I take my factory skid plate off to change the oil, the back bolts always get cross threaded. So I assume that is what he means.

Just get a tap and dye set and re tap the hole.. These bolts always come out... pretty common problem
