    Here's how far I got with a 84P.

I'm thinking of eliminating the gauge and shortening the air line. Then removing the electrical splices and LED and having a simple wiring with an inline switch and alligator clamps at the end.

    Any other mods you'd recommend?

I want to be able to fit this inside a very small Pelican case with a tire plug kit.w

I definitely wouldn't use the 12v outlet for a pump like that, good way to blow the thermal linkage on the back of the socket.

I would definitely put something that clamps directly onto the battery or best yet hard wire it with a blue sea aux fuse box and remote switch or similar.

The 12v cig connector is OEM. Gonna go with clamps or hard wire. Think it will survive mounted in the engine bay with all the moisture? If I mount it, I'll go with a coiled air hose.

Survive? Probably, you might consider mounting it inside a ammo can or something for better protection though.

I switch everything over to Anderson connectors. This one is still an sae plug, and I avoid alligators.

Ammo can would be cheaper definitely. Don't need anything fancy.

I don’t see much utility in mounting it, you’re only costing yourself flexibility. A longer wire is easier to store and more useful than an air hose.
