shockMt.jpg [IMG] Had my local wrench install new struts after my OEM's bit the dust..Got it back, the ride height was wrong..Scuffing mud flaps on garage floor.. After a long round and round they called Toyota and was informed that the TRD 2012 6, needed the OEM Bilstein strut package to gain the height..They got em in, ride height restored:thumbsup:.. Now months later, went to my muffler guy for a whistling issue under accel. (another unresolved prob) BUT while they were wrenching on it, they found this on the front end.. (Both sides) Soooo that ain't right! Not sure what transpired, but after knowing the history here what do you think is the culprit, if there is one?.. Don't wail on the truck but we do have dirt roads in some parts.. But I have a company car and haven't beat on this at all.. All replies welcome..[IMG] [IMG] Adding Below shot from drivers strut.. Isolation rubber is there..

Welcome to TacomaWorld! Maybe it's just me but all your photos appear broken so we can't see the issue. Can you double-check those? Maybe need to re-upload or give us a link to see them on some 3rd party site?

I can see the photos. It looks as if the threaded top has separated from the strut body. Faulty strut?

I can see one picture now (the first one with the shock rod busting through the top) but still 3 are broken.

Edit: Just checked source code, all appear to be the same image. I do IT for a living, I swear it ain't me. Weird format on my end, hmm. Anyways yeah looks to be missing the top hardware like your local wrench didn't do it right or something failed.

Looks like all of the strut mount hardware is missing. I.E. the rubber and metal washers

Unless the rubber broke off and the support washer is sitting on the mount.. (pretty doubtful though...)

I assume the washers are missing underneath as well which caused it to pop through. The scoring on the shaft makes me think it’s been rubbing the metal of the top hat.
