I just got done swapping over my coil springs from my 2003 tacoma to my new eibach struts, ( spring compressor was horrifying!)

My top bushing doesn't look near as squished as the oem one, it's hard to torque it to 22ftlb as the fsm asks, because you can't get a torque wrench on, but it definitely feels tight.

Here is the new install, new strut and strut mount.

    Here is the old one

They are nearly the exact same height.

Here is the order of bushings i used. The eibach shock came with an additional bushing on the bottom, but the KYB had one already mounted in the top ( as you can barely see it)

I think the top nut is bottomed out or almost at the very bottom of the threads to continue tightening.

Is it an issue? or just different design

The center nut should be bottomed out. The 2 struts may have a different stud length too.

The bushing will compress more over time and wear

I watched your video on YouTube, it explains alot. Towards the end you talk and point out your bushing is the same diameter as the top washer. My bushing diameter is quite a bit smaller

I feel the eibach shock? Even thouhht it's marketed for stock length coils, it is to long for my oem coil spring

That's great that you saw the video.
It could be the way they make their bushings, or the bushing size could also be thicker than Dobinsons from my video.

You can't bottom out the nut if the spring starts to apply pressure, or it's really hard to do it then anyway.

If the coil was too long for the strut, once it's assembled, the coil would be loose, and you'd know it right away. As long as it's captured top and bottom and not loose at all, it will work.

Thank you!!!! This is the last part of my front end refresh, it's been fun and I've learned a lot:) I hope to never do lower control arms again, getting the cam bolts out by the steering rack wasn't fun, I'm not very strong.

You CAN get a torque wrench on the nut, use a crows foot
