What about the clunk? Did that start before or after you replaced the shocks/springs?

Id try to find it before you make your next move purchasing more parts

Let me see if I've got this straight. You paid a shop to replace the shocks and springs and they didn't reccomend replacing the top hats and now there's a clunking noise and you think that because the top hats look nasty that the top hats must be the cause and you want to replace them yourself. Top hats are only about $25 per side. It's dumb to put the old ones back in when you're changing everything else. Why don't you go back to the shop that did the work and complain that it's clunking? If they say it's the top hats, ask them why they put the worn out top hats back in.

go to a shop that can do the full replacement of the struts for u and pay a person that has the tools and knowhow on how to replace the struts the right way, its way to complicated and dangerous to try doing this in your driveway with jackstands especially if u don t have the airtools and experience to do it right.

it depends on the condition of the tophats, I used a WHEELERS bushing replacement kit to replace the upper and lower bushings on the hat instead of buying the complete hats both sides, kit was $30.

Yeah good idea. I brought them the coils and shocks so I guess they just replaced what I brought them and charged me, then called it a day. Didn’t say anything about the top hats
