My truck has 80K on original shocks and struts. Should I replace the strut, spring and mount, or reuse some of the components? It seems easier to replace the entire strut assembly. Also, I appreciate any suggestions on which manufacture to purchase. Thanks!

    stock, for now
you can replace the whole thing, but its going to be costly...

Alot of people on here are using the Bilstein shocks/struts. Downsouthmotorsports on here can get ya a heck of a deal. If you have a few hours, you can do it yourself for the most part...Just remove the whole strut/coil out of the truck and take it to a GOOD shop. Should be under $50 to swap out the new struts into your old coils.

Unless you have about $200 PER SIDE for the ready struts(which are I think monroe or sensatracs) then your best bet would be to drop the $200 on just the new struts and swap out your old coils to the new struts.

just replaced the shocks on my truck with bilstein 5100's. truck had originals with 170k miles on them that were pretty shot. suspension feels great now, even with original springs.
