vice grips just rounded it off even more before and still dont work. I have a dremel but the inside is spitting out sparks so its toast and using it further might prove disastrous. I dont know what to use guys. My reciprocating saw is way to big and just doesnt work. Could I hit it hard enough with like a chisel or screwdriver and hammer and break it you think?

Tighten your vice grips up, get in there and use both hands to clamp the fuckers on. Grab a pair of channel locks if you have to to get them locked on.

You could try a nut breaker

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/GearWrench-Universal-Nut-Cracker-715D/204625347?cm_mmc=Shopping|VF|G|0|G-VF-PLA|&gclid=CjwKCAiA9f7QBRBpEiwApLGUinIe0ylpkVc9X2xGDix3iG4la3mnriHlcLmOOt7858gsMGEU85iIWRoCJoIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJyM-fSb59cCFQiZyAody8APWQ

I think a chisel is just going to bend the shit out of the stud and the mounting plate it goes through.

If you have access to an oxy acetylene torch, torch the fuckers off.

Try some heat. If you don't have access to a welder, you could try and file down some of the sides of the nut and force the next size down SAE size socket(sacrificial) on there. I'm not sure how big your hands are or how much room is there. Good luck.

Hes got three of them to get off tho, so he'd need three sockets. ++ how the fuck are you going to beat a socket onto that nut with the space were talking about?

If all 3 are seized that badly then he obviously isn't doing something right, like using a penetrant etc. And who said anything about beating it? A bit of patience is all. Calm down.

You're going to grind the bolts down to get another sized socket to fit, any time ive done this ive had to hammer the sacrificial socket onto the bolt.

He said he did use PB blaster, you can see it all over the top of the housing in the poor guys pictures. Stating "he's obviously not doing something right" isn't helping either.

A torch from home depot isn't going to do it man. If you're trying to torch the bolts off you need an oxygen acetylene torch

They are propane, this will heat things up perhaps get things to come loose.

I would try a rounded nut remover. Just get a good one.

I usually let the penetrant sit overnight(drenched) and rarely have this problem(just for future reference). If you can get a socket to fit on there tightly with some grinding/force etc, the heat might help break it free. I feel your pain.

    Good luck.

I've been there, just don't know if they have deep extractor if he needs one? Heat might help but all that penetrate on there might not be good idea?

Make sure you got a fire extinguisher handy. Playing with fire under a vehicle is always a bit risky.

get a better vice grip. you should be gripping it so tight that your hand kills trying to get it clamped on (and off afterwards for that matter). don't use crappy chinese vice grips.

The stuff you guys are recommending they don't have in stock at my local store. And I need the vehicle back tomorrow. I started this at 8 am and it's now almost 5 where I'm at. Didn't think it would take this long and wasn't expecting my dremel to shoot sparks. Why won't that torch do the job. Not hot enough? And if I did get the right torch would it catch all tbat pb blaster and other lubricants on fire? As for using better vice grips, it's so rounded off that every thing slips off. Usually it slips off in an upward fashion. There just not enough space to get it on tbere any other way

A propane torch will still catch all that shit on fire. A propane torch won't melt the steel, it will only heat it it. This may work to crack things loose anyway, but it's not a sure thing.

    ++ This

Try auto parts for nut extractor.

I called advance auto and they said they have a kit (or rather just a special socket) that fits on the end of the socket wrench and I'm guessing just grips it pretty good. He said it's $26 so it better work. I'm just call out of work tomorrow and get this done if not tonight cause it's pitch black outside. Still might get the propane torch cause it's cheap and might expand it enough. I really didn't need this crap to cost me any more money but at least it just builds up my tool collection even more.

Just something else I've done. If you have any room for a hammer and cold chisel, you can go on the side like you're trying to drive it around the right side. The chisel digging in and the tapping of the hammer will sometimes break it free.
