Hi! I'm a new guy. I've recently been investigating the pros and cons of installing a turbo kit designed as a bolt-on specifically for my engine. If you are not familiar with this idea, visit Ststurbo.com and see what I'm talking about. If anyone has an opinion one way or another please chime in. Thanks. Glad to be aboard.

Dont think you can get that kit anymore. Sts went out of business. Believe cxracing still has a kit though.

I've been in email contact with Rick Squires who invented the system. He's in the process of restarting the business. He's got one kit available. They're also available thru Andy's Auto Sport. I would like someone with first hand experience to help me decide if it's worth the $4 grand.

It's a lot designed to "bolt on" to a 3.4L V6. They say everything is included. So it's custom designed for that engine, but not for one individual 3.4L. That really shouldn't make a diff unless some other mods have already been done to an engine.

STS was bought out by ProCharger or another company. Eitherway, the made a poor product many times over. Maybe IF that company comes back, they will produce a quality product. You paid a premium for a product which was far more than what was received.

The 2nd gen kit was $6k, then the price fluctuated. The price of that kit matched a very nice custom front mount kit. That would come with higher quality components.

Ok. Thanks gentlemen for your input. I'm still trying to decide what exactly to do to gain some hp and improved performance, but not break the bank. The STS kit will likely run me $4k or there abouts. The Unichip claims to give me a 19.5 hp gain on its own. I'm not going to race and don't want to go crazy with mods. I'm kinda old school. I found a source for some chrome reverse 16" x 6 hole wheels. I'd like to lower the front ("rake" is the term they used to use) about 2-3". I need to know how to do that without compromising the steering or suspension. Thanks for any info you can give me on these issues.

At the time of that posting, I was told that I was # 3 or #5 for having purchased that kit. I cannot remember which. Doesn't matter. What matters is that the review in that link is spot on.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
A few turbo 5VZ's around here. I recommend getting the CxRacing header kit and building something off that. Check out some of the turbo builds to get a better idea of what kind of work is needed for a turbo setup.

So you put an STS kit on your Tacoma? And you agree with that ripoff report that the kit is cheap quality? How long have you had it? Do you still run it on your truck? If so, did you have to modify your set up afterwards to make it run as promised? What happened after you installed it? This is the kind of info I'm looking for.
