I'm trying to install a pedal commander but the connector at the pedal is a delphi connector with some sort of shroud on it, the top of the connector flips up and the shroud wiggles around but the connector will not budge, I've tried sticking a small screwdriver down the right side of the shroud while pulling on the wire connector but it will not budge, every time I look on YouTube there is a video of someone just pulling this straight up and off but no one has this type of connector. Isvthe shroud part of the connector or does the shroud have to come off first? What a Giant PIA!!@

There should be a tab on the side of the connector facing the center. Press that and pull straight up.

Tab on the shroud? The shroud covers the entire connector. Does the shroud and connector come off together?

Post a picture of what you are calling a shroud. I haven't seen a Toyota Tacoma with a shroud on the accelerator pedal connector.

Maybe the connector not coming off is a sign?
Maybe the truck doesn’t want a pedal commander on it?

Anyways, I’ll help you best I can if you get us a picture, like Jimmy asks.

I am having this same issue. Can't get the connector off of the pedal. Pressing every tab and pulling like crazy but it won't budge.

    Let me look into it.

The op in this thread may be able to help as he had an issue too like you.

This is what I found on the Interwebs:

I can see this tab on your image you posted above.

I went out and looked at my 2012 and lo and behold it has a cover over it too.

For grins I pressed the tab on the side towards the center console then pulled upwards while rocking the connector back and forth and it came right off...

Thanks for checking on that Jimmy.
That’s what makes TW great. We have members that will actually go out and “find out” on their trucks.

Nice of you to help OP out.

I know me and Dm93 have been out many times “testing” things for people.

We definitely have a good crew here on TW.

Does the shroud come off with the connector?or does it stay on and connector comes off separately?

Thank you Jimmyh for your help!! Unfortunately I still can't get this thing off. It's driving me absolutley crazy. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong because it should pop right off. My fingers are killing me.

As in the image I posted it all comes off as one. Watch the video on You Tube I linked at the 2 minute and 18 second mark it shows the dude unplugging the connector and shroud assembly.
