Just put mine on. Looks good. Works great. There's no issue with reception. I wonder why it's so hit or miss on reception? image.jpgimage.jpg

That looks like it came off a handheld radio... lol.

I imagine it has a LOT to do with the radio signal strength/quality in the area the user is in. For example, radio reception here in MT isn't amazing to begin with. Lots of hills/mountains and long distances between towns. I'd love a shorter antenna as I'm about to do a 2.5-3" suspension lift on my truck in two weeks. My stock antenna already is 1-1.5" too tall and hits on shelves in my garage.

Might have to raise those shelves higher I guess...

I picked this one up at autozone (~$15). It Looks almost identical to the stock antenna on my 2014 but it's about half the length and maybe a little shinier (it looks better than stock and seems like better quality). Excellent reception, nice compromise. Black and has the secondary wire spiral wrapped around the main just like stock. Ha my factory antenna was hitting my garage door.

Ya. It's small. But it works good for me. Your rig looks real nice. It will look good with a bit more clearance as well! What tires are you thinking about getting?

    Thanks!

I just put these tires on. Not planning anything for now. Michelin MS 2 on it now. The Dunlop's had to go. Almost all my driving is highway.

I never thought about the clearance gauge idea, just don't like it always hitting my garage. I've been looking for one just short enough to clear the garage door, but so far closest options are 24" and 30".

I got one yesterday. Put it on today and within 15 minutes I was putting the stock antenna back on. I couldn't pick up any stations at all.

I bought a stubby antenna, put it on, and promptly took it back off. Reception was non-existent. I got this one the next day. 14", less than $10. reception is same as the 1000' cell tower that Toyota puts on 'em from the factory

After reading through various posts regarding the stubby I think I'll just stick with the stock one. More than a few people mentioned the benefit of using the stock one as a "feeler" when going into a garage, etc.
