I have a 2006 tacoma access cab. About a month after buying it i closed the access cab door on the passenger side and it hss never been opened again.

I assume the mechanism inside the handle just got disconnected and i just need to reconnect it, but to do that i need to take the door card off, and to do that I need to open the door.....i think you see my point.

    Anybody ever have this issue?

Have you tried a "slim jim" yet? Obviously use it to grab the open mechanism instead of the unlock mechanism. I'm not 100% sure this is truely possible, but would make for an easy access if it is. (see what I did there? ):hattip:

Sorry, don't have an access cab, but had this happen on a couple previous vehicles. Do NOT cut a hole in the door panel trying to fix it...damned 1989 buick. Like stated above a slim jim down onto the actual mechanism/rod is probably your best bet

    Thread jack...sorry

Bought a shitbox 89 Buick Electra. I was taken by the red velour interior. This was in about 1997/1998. What a heap of shit. The Drivers rear door would stick a little and the electric locks would not unlock it. So 17 year old me decided to "fix" it. I fiddled with the the stricker/jamb and slammed it shut. Well, it wouldn't open anymore. After the gas tank, the rad, and the brake lines started to leak, I figure what the hell...I will fix that damn door.

Sawzall in hand I guessed where to cut and went to town. Trim shattering, red fuzz (velour), faux wood everywhere and then...The resistance. The saw stopped cutting easily. Well I can't be told no, I went harder...
Too hard...cut the wires and arms for the regulator, and crash goes the window.

I got the door open, but at such a cost.

I have a stuck door in my driver side extended cab door. My search brought me here. The Buick story was so great that I forgot about how frustrated I am not being able to open the extended cab door.
