Stuck ECGS Bushing

    Was helping my brother change out his needle bearing with the ECGS Bearing. Got it in almost all the way and it just stopped going in. Now we are unable to remove it. Tried used a slide hammer and a puller and it’s actually damaging the bushing now. Still hasn’t moved, no idea what do do. Anyone have any ideas?

    Might have to cut 2 relieve cuts on opposite sides. Be careful not to cut into the housing. But the ecgs puller should get it out if that's what you are using.

    We were originally and it stripped... might have to cut it out like you said

    Yikes! Yeah your best bet is to cut it out. Just be cautious. Otherwise a tig welder and a machine shop are in your future

    Yikes. For future reference it’s ok if the ecgs bushing doesn’t go all the way flush. Judging by that pic it looks like it was in plenty far. Good luck with removal.

    Yeah I think we may have damaged it putting it in. Fingers crossed I can cut this out today

    Might want to do a fluid change in case shavings from all the cutting got into the differential.

    It looks like it is in the correct depth from what I can see. Try to clean off those edges and see if it's still good.

    Looks like the new bushing went in fine this time. Old bushing got stuck again somehow... had to grind it down till it bent inwards. Such bad luck. Rented a seal driver set from autozone, made the install much easier. What a PITA

    How did you grind it down? I f*cked up and had the ecgs removal tool crooked and it ripped out the needle bearings

    No the ecgs tool broke the lip it was suppose to grab, i tried using a slide hammer with pilot bearing attachment but it kept damaging it more. I’m stuck right now, i think i have to cut it
