Exactly shift on the fly should be fine but dealership told me the proper way to do it is to put it in neutral then do it. I understand that’s the old way of doing but in our trucks shift on the fly is designed in our trucks.

So basically if I soder the prongs then it should be good to go.theyll get a permanent connection ... thanks for the link.... but my worry is voiding warranty :(... but worst come to worst I’ll remove it and soder it!!

I think your dealer is giving you incorrect information. I would share the 25 page thread with them so they are aware, and aware that YOU are aware, and the likely correct route would be for them to replace the actuator under warranty. The owners manual itself states its shift on the fly, not stopping and putting it into neutral. All 4WD vehicles sold to day are shift on the fly.

Your dealer is wrong. As others have said, 4hi can be activated up to 60 mph or such at anytime. 4lo requires neutral. It's on the card on your visor.
Take it back and tell them to fix it.

today we we had our first snow so decided to get some food and exersize the 4wd system.
work fine till coming home. was approaching a intersection that was salted and snow free so turned it from 4Hi to 2HI and light didn't even blink , just stayed solid green. tried several switched from 2hi to 4hi and back again and still solid green. pulled over and parked and shut truck off.
when i started it again 4HI light was now off and it worked when i tried going to 4hi and back to 2hi..

Anyone else ever see the same issue?

    its a 2015 dclb..

You really should hit this up in the second gen section. We have amber lights. No green ones here. I'll guess actuator though.
