Lemon law... 3 times at the shop for the same issue in a month. Hire a lawyer. Have lawyer call dealership. Watch how fast they fix your problem.

That doesn't make any sense. Why would they avoid replacing that cat, if in fact, that is the problem? He's only got 3k miles on it and 5 years on the warranty. They'd end up more in the hole by prolonging the proper fix.

That said, I highly doubt it would be the cat, but I guess you never know. I've had O2 sensors go bad, and receive a faulty O2 sensor in return. They are finicky.

I had a vehicle once that threw a tranny code error. Turned out the O2 sensor. Reason was the voltage to the bad O2 heater was also the input to the governor pressure solenoid in tranny.
Anyone have wiring to see if heater circuit is in parallel with something else and could be loading ?

Must be a substantial defect. This does not qualify IMO.

They’ll get it figured out it may take a few attempts. they’ll probably keep it overnight and drive it the 30 miles to make the code come on in front of the tech that would be a worst-case.

Way beyond my depth but I appreciate it. Will run it by dealer (respectfully, of course).

Now I’ve got p0030 and p0036. Truck is at dealer right now hope they can figure this out. Fingers crossed... tired of driving around with an engine light.

Both of those codes are for the oxygen sensors. Keep us posted.

Yeah. Dealer has the truck since yesterday morning. Ruled out the o2 sensors & wiring, going to do a brain transplant with one of the other tacos on the lot to see if it’s a bad ECU.

I’m guessing if that’s the issue I won’t see my truck for a week while they order/install new ECU. :(
