You win! This is exactly it..."crawl control fail!" attention grabbing title to get people to the YouTube channel...it' has nothing to do about asking what to do, or "hey, what did I do wrong"...everybody needs to build their channel and get all those clicks and views to be the next YouTube millionaire. See it all the time whether it's 4Wheeling, fishing, camping, whatever.

That being said, it's really not that bad and he's out there with the fam having a good time. Lessons learned, hopefully some new tires and next time he has the knowledge of what to do better. Many people spend all this $ and don't even leave the pavement.

    @xzatx

I just want to say I enjoyed watching because: everybody in the video had a good time! You learned a lot, wife was obviously having fun video taping and providing "advice", and no doubt the kids loved it. And, for the kids it was real life, not a video game. Glad to hear you are taking the family camping. It's an awesome thing to do for the kids.

    Nice family, nice truck!

OP dont worry we all get humiliated from time to time. Honestly I do think CC is overhyped and you have a good point.
Thanks man. I’m seriously thinking about a rear locker but I’ve been reading a ton of stuff saying the front locker is bad news for IFS. Do you have an issue with that?? Money really isn’t a big deal to me. I have 5-10k to blow on the truck this year.

I'm not worried per se, but when and if I engage the front locker it won't be on a turn. The axle halves are pretty stout, not a weak point. So again, not worried. What is the worrying failure mode on the 8" clamshell?

you are so smart, you nailed it. wow, congrats.

Yes, I went 500 miles to Utah, I got myself stuck in a 14+ grade hill muddy, I almost dropped in a ditch and totaled the truck, and stranded myself and my kids in the area so I get youtube views. Dude I already make good money, I don't need views or pennies from youtube.

Sir, if the purpose of my video was YOUTUBE, it would have been filmed on a tripod in English and likely with a drone. Most of the commentary in there is in our native language and the footage is super raw. I did not even try to edit much, I got no time. This was not prepped or staged or planned.

    now for q&a:

    - Did crawl control save us from the hill? NO, it failed.
    - Does that mean crawl control sucks? no it does not, it means that you should not rely on it. Other people who will watch the video will learn not to fully depend on it.
    - did the driver save the situation by using original methods? yes, that's a PASS.
    - did i lie that crawl failed? (clickbait?) -- NO i did not, in the video you see that crawl did not do shit and just made things worse. it was the wrong feature to use given the terrain and conditions.
    - did I learn anything or teach anything from that video -- Yes
    - did I learn anything from the comments? yes, in fact, a lot. I learned that I need more tools, recovery planks maybe, lower tire pressure, use cc in downhill etc... learned a lot from positive feedback. so the post was helpful.
    - did the video waste your time with advertisement, commentary and shit footage? -- no it did not, i went straight to the point in the video and i posted the mudslides in the beginning.
    - am I expecting an apology from you and all the bullies? No. I'm too old to care.

now I always withheld myself from answering these posts cause it does not solve anything and it only aggravates. but its new years day. it's okay just today. I get a pass.

if you don't like my youtube content, simply move on. my content may not help everyone, but it might help just 1 person and save him time, money or save him from one bad situation and that's enough for me.

happy 2020. your resolution should be to chill offff.. no one is chasing you for clicks.

I used a hammer to drive a screw once and it broke the screw, so I'm going to blame the hammer and tell other people that they shouldn't rely on the hammer.

I'm going to title my video "HAMMER FAILED!", when really, I should have just used a screwdriver.

The video really needed more slow-mo and some of that Halsey/Shaed background music instrumentals or even better the background music that sounds like disco for chipmunks

the hammer instructions if you google it does not tell you to you have hammer screws. read the manual.
toyota manual tells u you can use crawl in mud. you probably does not have a TRD OR and just trolling :D. so just google the manual if you dont got one,.

I think your video was fine . You just needed better tires for the conditions and a bit more experience off roading . I’m sure you learned some stuff that day ! :thumbsup:Happy New Year

    crawl.jpg '
It does specify mud in the table, but you've also ticked two of the boxes under the "These conditions may cause the system may not operate correctly" box - steep and slippery. To me, and probably anyone else that has driven in mud, that would say that crawl control is the wrong tool for the job, but might be worth a try just for giggles. Not worth a "CRAWL CONTROL FAIL" headline though.
