Fixed it,,, Hook up to a trailer with a 7pin connection. Set up to tow new trailer, drive through a couple right and left turns. Park it, disconnect it. When cluster asks if trailer is Disengaged yes or no... Enter YES and magically everything is tacoriffic again.

Sorry to repeat but post 80 didn't show up when I signed on and didn't want anyone to not get the solution.

Did you answer the disengaged question yes or no? That's what made mine mess-up the 1st time.

There is actually a question that comes after you tell trailer mode that you don't have a trailer hooked up. This pic comes up after.

I believe I answered no and probably should say yes instead

Try hooking up to 7pin again and set up as a different named trailer drive it right and left and park it, disconnect it and then tell truck you are disengaged. Maybe it will reset correctly then.

I have never once seen that pop up. donyou really think it makes a different to drive it? And not just hook it up.

Pouring now and don’t wanna drag the boat around. I’ll try it tomorrow.

It seems that you do have to drive it before the computer recognizes the trailer has either been connected or disconnected.

I tried just plugging in and unplugging the trailer lights several times but never got the message on the dash. It wasnt until i drove it around the block after connecting/disconnecting that i got the message.

Dont know if it matters, but I didnt kill the truck before driving around the block after disconnecting the trailer.

So you started the truck. Hooked up the trailer. Drove it around. Did NOT turn it off. Unplugged. And then drove around again? Correct?

I did get the trailer detected! Which I wasn’t getting before. But no “no trailer detected” to turn it off….

Well. 4 hook and unhook cycles and I finally got it out of trailer mode! It wasn’t easy but it’s out. Could it have anything to do with the brand new plugs of the truck for the trailer? Has anyone hooked up again since getting out? Did it get stuck again?

I haven't hooked up again to a 4pin trailer, I'm kinda enjoying not seeing the light and warning msg.
I will hook up again this weekend and see how easy or hard it is to tell the truck the trailer is not following me.
