    Can you rotate it?

Use a penetrating lubricant and allow it to soak then try rotating it and pulling at the same time. Not hard or too forceful, Slow and steady wins the race.

    I swear by Superzilla.

That looks like the OCV filter?
If so it's an allen socket.
This is where those long ball head allen sockets come in handy.
A little tappy, tap, tap... helps sometimes.

Ok. I see what we are working with now.....
I'd want to see if I could pull it out.
Not sure I'd want to try and easy out. That may allow metal debris into the engine.

    Dang man. That sucks.

    Here
welcome to my world. Looking at the other it looks like maybe I can pry something into it and shake the rest out. In reality there shouldn’t be much holding that in right!?

    That is a tough one.

Maybe a small blind bearing puller and a slide hammer.

I'd try the pan head screw trick first.
I'd maybe even try to make a "puller" out of it if I could.
It's do able. But it will take some "backyard" engineering.

That #8 screw is way too thin. I’ll let you guys know how it goes and thanks for the tips. Def some backyard engineering happening here.

Let me dig around the garage here and measure the head diameter of a few screws and bolts.

Do you have a rough guess of how big the bore is?

My brother had the blind hole puller kit. I might be able to give him a call and see how small it goes down too.
I know it's a mater kit. He had to buy it back when we were racing and building quads.

Got it out! Sad how easy this hammer slide made it. 1/2 inch lag screw 8” with a craftsman hammer slide I grabbed from Lowe’s. Undo the bolt from the vice grip and use one of the attachments that come with the slide to attach them together. Just get the air box out of the way.
Thanks all for your ideas and help!

    Nice.
That looks like something I'd rig up.

If you don't have at least one tool in your garage that looks like it has "bad news" write on it.
You ain't never worked on much. :D

Slide hammers can be a godsend at times like these.
Good job - Slide Hammer, Vice Grips and a long Lagging Bolt.

Still Getting p0011 (bank 1 timing over advanced or retarded) (was happening before I changed the vvt solenoid and now I’m also getting the p0020 (circuit open for camshaft position sensor bank 2)

I realized both vtt connectors were snapped and replaced one connector on bank 1 (still getting the code) the other comes in tomorrow but I have the plug pushed as far as it goes. I ran the truck a little bit and went for a drive earlier and was getting some pinging in tbe engine that sounded louder as I drove so I took it home and after shutting it off it didn’t want to start and jumped the battery when it finally started the engine sounded like a rock in a blender.

is my truck hosed or what? Not sure why this would be happening I’m going to have it towed maybe to the dealership but first to my honest mechanic up the road.

There is an inspection cover for the timing chai tensioner.
Remove the cover plate and see how far the tension is pushed.
