I'm in the process of changing out my rear shocks and the passenger side is stuck pretty bad. I got the bolts out easy enough, but the shock itself won't budge. I've tried hammering and prying but without any luck.

Should I jack the truck up on the passenger side to extend the shock a bit and maybe relieve any pressure that's on the bushings?

Or maybe aggressively drive around town hoping it falls out?:notsure:

Any other ideas would be great, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to wrenching on the taco. Thanks.

You can try to lift the truck but I don't really think that will help too much. Spray some deep creep or kroil on the stud. The metal bushing has probably rusted to the stud so soaking it with some kind of penetrating oil will help get it off.

Got it off! Thanks for the quick reply. Lots of lube was the key and prying from a slightly different angle. Glad I didn't waste my time digging that damn jack out too.
