That 6-wheel JD job looks like it paid for itself about 8 times over.

because we were dumb and instead of just pulling it out then we just floored it and it buried my axle
this is like 5 mins into it.
you have to remember i'm 2wd. If this was 4x4 I wouldn't have been stuck

oh thats right, because you have a useless 12" lift that renders your front drive system unuseable.

or was it a prerunner from birth?

I know it's kind of a buzz kill to get stuck, but I love this thread. At least we're out having fun with our trucks. Why buy an off road then keep it safely on the pavement, right?

So here's my contribution. Friend and I were working way out in the dust and desolation of western Oklahoma- no man's land, just nothing there- and had a day off from work. I'd just gotten my Tacoma a couple months earlier and the plan was just to go fishing. So we loaded up the fishing poles and an ice chest of beer and headed out. I'd never done any off roading before, so naturally after a few cold ones it seemed like a good idea to give me some lessons (cuz DUI and off roading lessons are definitely a good combination, right?). First I found this insane bluff, it was pretty terrifying for me to tackle it but I made it! Later (and another several beers each) we went to the other side of the lake. The water was down, there was a good wide beach and we decided to drive down the beach. Got a little ways and there was a log in the way. If you're not familiar with red clay, it sucks you in and will not let go. And so I stopped and said we should just put the lines in the water and call it good. The reply was, "You can't get a Tacoma into anything it can't get out of!" I got out to grab the poles, he got in driver's seat, told me to stop being a pussy, and started to go around the log. Dork. Once the right wheels hit the water he didn't make it far.

And we got dug in pretty good, fast. This was before we sunk it in worse.

Some guys tried to pull us out, but all we managed to do was break their tow straps. First tow truck we called came out, looked at it, and said he couldn't do it. My friend told him, "I told her not to try it." Tow driver said, "Yeah, stop lying, women aren't this stupid." The second tow drivers laughed at us and hooked up the winch to the tow ball and went to work.

Two months later same friend rolled his truck, called me for a ride. His insurance arranged a tow truck. Same tow driver who got us out before came out- we were, at that point, close to 100 miles from his base but he was the only wrecker out there. He pulled up, looked at us, and said, "You two again? Just keep it up, I get paid good money for you two." :D
