Not all the time! One of the areas we used to go to years ago had a nice littles "trap" for newbs. We would let them go first and eehy would always go around the sides. It was deeper and was a drop-off there though and they would end up stuck almost every time. It wasn't super deep so it wasn't too rough on them. If you went through the middle it was about 1/2 the depth and you would be fine.

Just pulled mine out of a lake last night. Would have taken a pic but my cellphone doesn't have a flash and I was busy taking a sobriety test. Illegal urban wheeling after a couple shots. Oops. It had rained hard then the water receded. I couldn't help myself. But I passed my test cause I study hard. Got let off w/ a trespassing warrant!
    Officer: have you been drinking?
Me: of course I have , my truck is in a lake
Officer: (laughs) I appreciate your honesty and I guess you keys aren't in the ignition and I can't give you a DUI
Me: no their not but please give a road side test so you feel comfortable letting me get back in my truck to get it out
    Test proceeds
Officer: ok your good but I am gonna hang around to watch this ( getting pulled)
    Phew , that was close!

Sold my truck to my buddy who moved to Alaska. Was on a trail typically for fourwheelers and fell through the ice:

I did that a few weeks ago too haha  But I didn't get stuck. I had enough momentum I guess. It also looks like it wasn't as deep.

This was a few months ago. Funny story actually. Met this guy down a rarely used trail (when we get rain the trail turns into a swamp and no one rides). He was ass up with his front end under water. Pulled him out, he took out his plugs, let the water out, turned it over and headed back.
This is what I saw when I came out of the trail, had to laugh.

    Gonna add my latest derp.

Was trying to make it up this steep slick snowy road when i came to a stop and couldnt go any further up, and my wheels were just spinning. So i give up and try to back down and basicially end up sliding sideways off the road and into soft ass snow almost in a ditch. Well it sunk down pretty far on the passenger side and was leaning pretty hard and I knew when to give up and called for help. I flagged down this jeep that was passing by and they were eager to help. So we hooked up my tow strap and i got pulled back onto the road and could back down no problem. Certainly looked pretty stupid after I got stuck though.
