Managed to crab crawl my rear end into a ditch...quick tug then some good throttle back and forth and we were back to plowing snow.

Yes sir! Such a great time. Part 2 of the first snow run of the year. Couldn't have asked for better conditions. I was aired down to 20psi.

Yea...a quick tug from the Land Cruiser and then some throttle and I was good to go. Just had to get some momentum to smash threw those ruts and start plow the right way. Only stuck of the day for me.

A link to a few more pics from that snow run:

dam man, looking through your build, bad ass truck and bad ass wheeling! You sure do know your shit. I would love to make it out there some time! Maybe you would be interested in going on a little overland trip with the NW guys this summer? Maybe moab? Monte and mike have this 10 day trip split up into 3 chunks. Me and ben will probably be doing the first 3 day chunk which has the morrison trail.

Actually, snow is the one place a locker is more likely to screw you up - they end up walking you downhill, so you end up sliding into ditches and stuff.

However, they do really well in helping you back out of the ditch... not like I'm speaking from personal experience or anything :D

well i think I would say yes and no. How the truck reacts in the snow is really up in the air. It will start going one way and there isnt much you can do about it. In deep shit like that I would really want as much help going forward as I could get. And ya im sure they would help a lot getting out of a ditch too haha, I love just watching that one tire sit still and be useless. I get really mad at it and start yelling and telling it to do its job:rolleyes:

Locker is only good if your loosing traction on one wheel like going up a hill. Otherwise it tends to pull you side ways especially if your going around corners.

You don't need a locker for snow. The red taco and the old Land Cruiser are open front and rear. Its all about figuring out just the right speed to keep going and when to romp on the throttle when you have to. I only had my locker on for hill climbs where the snow got packed down and polished.

He wasn't stuck there. Stopped to bs for a bit, he pulled right out. It was very fine, dry powder. I refuse to touch wet, heavy snow. haha. That stuff is miserable. The fresh powder is where its at.

Thanks! Unfortunately its come at a cost, but this hobby is to much of an addiction haha. We could definitely set up a good run if you ever make it out here! I've dropped in on that thread a few times. It really depends on how much I can set aside for gas. If I can afford it, I would definitely like to run the Morrison Trail. I've seen some really good write ups about it.

Yep, exactly. A locker with snow and off camber roads or trails is not good!

    this happened back in july..

truck was not running when it went into the lake but yes the whole passenger side was submerged, water up to the dash and up to the radio..

had the truck anchored with my buddy's wrangler. between the wrangler and a lifted f350 diesel with lockers it was not coming out. ended up taking a friends deuce and a half to yank it out.

an ecm, oil/t-case/diff fluid change later it was running like new again
