the door is a little wrinkled but not scratched up, don't look very bad, I hooked the winch to the tree to stop from slipping any further, another truck hooked on to the rear bumper and pulled me away from the tree then I was able to back out, I will be building sliders in the near future and trying this again, worst thing is I got through a lot of rough stuff to get this far and after the tree the trail was clear, I don't mind the door that much, im really glad I didn't loose the window, it was about 3/8" away from the tree

Not sure if sliders are gonna help there. The truck looked like it was leaning pretty far. Past where sliders would be effective.

Yeah, I have considered that, but it's an excuse to build sliders :D I might have to figure a better way around the tree, maybe a set of max trax to stop me from sliding

What fun is an access cab when you can take a DCLB out there! Mine has been dubbed the limo when we go riding.

This happened the day after I got my Tacoma...
First time ever owning anything 4x4 and my buddy didnt know anything either so we were both noobs. I dove into this nasty muddy access road for tractors to the side of a farm field in 4Hi and blasted through it for a half mile before getting stuck by the trunk sinking instantly while just getting turned around to head back. I tried rocking it back and forth and got nowhere. I put it into 4Lo by pushing the button and it would just beep. I figured that was just it letting me know I was in 4Lo. After a half hour of pushing random buttons and nothing was working we gave up and tried calling some friends but nobody was available that could help us and we were a good half a mile from any hard surface. We ended up walking the distance to this farmer's house through this deep mud and knocked on his door. His wife answered and we told her the story and asked if we could get towed out by one of the tractors. Long story short we waited 5 hours for him to get home and $100 and he pulled us out with his tractor. We definitely could've gotten out if I had just looked up at the sun visor to figure out how to get into 4Lo and engage the diff lock as I've been in a lot of worse scenarios with the truck since..

Talk about learning the hard way.. I still don't know when I'd need to use the ATrac or hill assist.

Looks like that was fun... Hill assist is just automatic. When you are in gear and let go of the brake, hill assist will hold the brakes for about .5 to 1 second locker to give you time to get on the throttle before you start rolling down hill.

ATrac is like a less effective version of a locker basically.

This is one of them cases where the picture doesn't do it justice. The mud doesn't look deep but it was very soft. Some good size M/T's would've made a world of a difference compared to the stock Rugged Trails but I am not sure 2WD would've made it through. My passenger back tire is off the ground and the front passenger side tire is half way submerged in mud. But you could also be right.. this was my first time offroading and I'd like to go back to that place with my knowledge now, along with a shovel in case I do get stuck again. The owner of that farm threatened to press charges and impound my truck if he saw me out there again so maybe i'll toss that idea! :D

it was cool of him to tow you out, i was thinking about that earlier, if someone got stuck on my farm, id tell them to piss off probably, especially when froadin in the fields.

Haha, yeah it wasn't the smartest idea but I paid for it. Since then I've decided driving 50-60 miles to offroad is the better choice. In any case, I wasn't in any fields but more-so along a 15 ft wide path around the fields for tractors. Wasn't any blatant disrespect of another's property here..

There was quite a bit of skinny pedal involved, I love the skinny pedal, I stopped sliding about 6" from the tree and tried more skinny pedal lol
