I am definitely going to Moab at the end of May and I still have to figure out if I am going to the Epic wy/mt Adventure.

The water didn't look deep at first.... I was wrong:eek:! I just crept in slow to check the depth and then all of the sudden it sank. I tried to back up, but couldn't go back (in 4 low and locked). Then I moved up about a foot to get some momentum to go back well I just sank more, a lot more.

It took forever to clean up the interior. The only electronics that got wet were on two airbag sensors on the floor. I am sure they will eventually corrode so I might just order some new ones and save the headache. I had a automotive electrician take a look at it while he helpped me install my CB and he said I did a good job cleaning it up and that everything seems good.

Trust me lesson learned! I didn't want to go into anything that deep. I will certainly be avoiding stuff like that as much as possible from now on. Luckily the truck never shut off and I was pulled pretty quickly after getting stuck. Seems like I got pretty lucky and will do what I can to not let that happen again.

Here is a video I got of the guy that pulled me out trying to go through that hole after I got stuck.

A few years ago I stumbled across this after a friends co-ed baby shower....turns out the lady driving was hammered and had been at the same baby shower. Road is a steep downhill that curves to the left... Lady bailed and got picked up by a friend of hers...this was rural so CHP dispatched a fixed wing to flyover head and it took a CHP car about 30 minutes to arrive on scene...lady walked away with a broken wrist and did not get charged with DUI. Below the tree is about a 25-30 foot drop into a ravine so the tree saved her

Thats crazy. I also noticed that there are no skid marks except for right by the tires, so she had to be airborne right before she hit.

Stupid ass drunk drivers. Hopefully she learned her lesson. Otherwise she's better off down the ravine IMO. Drunk drivers have no place in our society. Same level as rapists

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Not even close, rapists are much worse. When your intoxicated, your mind can't process thought correctly and therefore, you do things you inherently have no idea or control over without the aid of sober friends. Rapists last I checked are usually sober when they prey on someone, their minds functioning fully. They know it is wrong, yet they do it anyway and more often than not, get away with it for years and years. Rarely do drunk drivers get away without serious punishment. It's just something we gotta live with, drunk driving accidents are never going to stop as long as alcohol is being made, nor is gun violence going to stop as long as there is sociopaths running around with easy access to them.

This is one of my favorite threads in the off-roading section. Time to get it stirred back up with a few from this weekend.

I creeped into this one 2 slow since I didn't know exactly how deep it got. Had a buddy submerge his intake in a hole just a few feet away from this one. Got pulled out and was able to drive through it on the second try.

Derp moment for me. Worried more about a branch sticking out on the left side of the trail than the 2 ft trench on the right. skids/frame rail, lower control arm and rear diff sitting on the ground.

Salton Sea 2012 was doing 40 mph and came to a stop win about 4 seconds when i hit a sink hole from where water used to be. took two winches to pull me out. Locals said last guy got stuck nearby had to get a crane to boom him out. glad i didn't have to pay for that.

how did I not put my stuck in this thread! from july.

My frame was full on the rock on my passenger side with both passenger side tires off the ground, and the left side just digging in the sand. Was locked through this onstacle (both times haha) but still got stuck. The nissan to my right was open/open and just was pitifully stuck in some sand or something, still had to get winched lol. DOUBLE WINCH ACTION!
