My Warn 9.5 is permanently mounted on the front but I really like the versatility of being able to winch forwards or backwards so I might do something similar to your setup.

I had to winch my truck around 180 degrees for this recovery, a rear winch option would have been much easier.

People criticized me for wanting a rear Winch. Still in the works for me.

I can't really see a downfall of a rear winch other than poor R&D would limit your ground clearance in the back. When I have my rear HC built I want to see if Tyler can make a winch mount where the spare tire used to be.

In reality, on a HCRB or any Bumper. As long as the Tow hitch was in the center, lower in the HCRB. There would be enough room above it to mount a Fairlead. Given that the Winch was mounted in the spare tire area or similarly behind the bumper. having a liner of sorts to protect the line in a slack line situation from the hitch carrier.

    This.
When I flat deck mine I plan on moving the rear winch up a bit. Otherwise I've had more needs for a rear winch than a high clearance bumper. More sink holes around here than steep inclines or declines.

Got a question for all you snow drivers. Does it help to air down like driving in the sand? Never driven in the snow

Yes it does, I run a slightly lower pressure in the winter all the time. I have been able to drive up icy climbs without trouble then the next truck with 45 psi tires never got up.

:D if you tail gate me during the day it can be disastrous.
Where the hole is for the high lift jack on both sides I put red led brake/ signal lights. When I first made the swing out my tire were much smaller and there wasn't much of an issue. Anyhow the lights will be gone when I flat deck it this summer if all goes well.

Finally recovered the vehicle just before dark, but had to leave it there due to blown tire bead and ripped out brake line. It's SAS'd on 37s so it buried deep.
