From 9 years ago, I stuck my first truck like glue in the north Florida mud. It was a 94 pickup, reg cab 22re 4x4. Sunk it up to the axles on a fire lane after a morning bow hunt. Had to get my old man to come snatch me out but then he got stuck just as bad lol, luckily he had a winch to get us both out.IMG_20140930_140357756.jpg IMG_20140930_144157360_HDR.jpg

This ditch was pretty much invisible until it was too late. It was the middle of nowhere with no reception. I had to walk in the woods after dark to get to and area with reception. It was exciting, and scary. Got winched out by a Jeep.

Have this gem from last winter. Learning experience all around:rofl:

Traction boards, shoveling, and some serious elbow grease got her out.

Only the bumper got a dent in the corner, and the black chin thing lost a few clips. It was my pride, more than anything, that got kicked around a little. I've been driving around trails for years, and I completely missed this creek. Not only that, I was on a stupid horse trail (total accident. Horse trails and unimproved roads looked the same in my GPS) and I'm lucky to not have had a ranger spot me. I think I would've gotten a hefty fine for going on the horse trail. The scariest thing was hiking for 45 minutes towards the road (for cell signal) and 45 minutes back with no trail through the forest in total forest darkness. I had a flashlight, GPS, and I had marked the way (no trail) with reflectors, ribbons and a few little led lanterns on trees. I made that trip twice. That forest was completely dead. It was in the fall, so no leaves on trees. Every step I took was a super loud crunch in the darkness, and the entire forest was completely silent. No birds, insects, no coyotes, deer... no racoons, or rabbits... I made that trip twice. It's was quite unnerving.

Good to hear that both driver and Tacoma made it through mostly unscathed. Dead-quiet forest cannot be fun in the dark.

this is old but we busted through a snow berm to continue up the mountain. I got high centered on my first couple tries. Super fun to get elevation when there is fresh snow here.

Yeah, doesn't look that deep until you're in it, I'd have tried it too.

Plenty of vehicles in the group with winches ready to go so the risk wasn't as high compared to the usual solo trekking. Zero regrets and I've already got most of it cleaned off

The Taco-Police would have taken your Tacoma into custody and found a good home for it of you had let the Jeeps get you out.
