My dealership replaced the sensor in my non-recall truck and the difference is amazing. The dealership is notifying toyota corporate that they just had a non-recall truck with a bad CPS.

What improvement have you seen? I replaced mine as well and so far stumbles are gone after an ECU reset and idle is smooth as butter but I've not seen much else different.

I'm letting my engine cool down. Then I'm changing mine.

I got it changed. Engine was hot lol. First thing when I grabbed the harness, the lock on the plug was not even engaged. It just pulled off when I was trying to move the boot back to get to the clip, it came unplugged with little force. The sensor was not scratched but it did have shards of something black stuck to it. I guess it's metal since the sensor is magnetic.

I've been complaining the about this since February to a dealer I was going to and they kept telling me it was normal and eventually told me not to come back there.

One reason why I hate dealerships. MOST are not empathetic.

If it's any consolation the GM twins have a similar issue that they call the "chuggle". Seems to be a characteristic of the current AT programming to increase MPG.

If they are intentionally lugging the engine, it's going to be a problem on any platform. It's very hard in the engine too.

What part is everyone using for 2017s? #90919-05098 as the VIN matching part or #90919-05089 despite VIN mismatch?

Well night and day difference. Unbelievable. Dealer ducked me around for a year. Went to another dealer changed no question. I have a bit of love again for this truck. The old one had anti seize and metal filings on the pickup. Dealer said Toyota needs to recall the whole lot.

I have pretty similar issue. 670 miles on my manual OR. basically in 2nd gear and throttling up there is a sudden lag that I power through. It seems like a sudden loss in power. Only momentary. But enough to really get my attention. Is this what u guys speak of. If so. Where is the best place to purchase this?? I could try the dealer route but I'm 2.5 hrs away and work a lot. If I could just switch this out and run smoother I'd be happy.

I have experienced this with my 2016 also. OBD reader won't tell you anything unless you throw a code. I hooked the truck up to our Snap-On diagnostic laptop which will tell you every reading coming from the truck. No misfires logged at all and everything read good with timing / injector pulse. Really frustrating when I can literally feel the misfire/stumbling but all the reading say it's all running perfectly.
